Key Highlights: - Reforestation efforts target degraded ecosystems to restore biodiversity. - Strengthens the agricultural sector by supporting local crops like achiote, yucca, Chinese potato, cacao, and medicinal plants, alongside improved rice processing technologies. - Promotes environmental education, ecotourism, and sustainable cooking practices. - Enhances infrastructure for transportation, health, housing, and recreation within the community. The ARLEQUIN REDD+ Project empowers local communities to protect critical rainforest ecosystems while fostering sustainable development and improving quality of life through environmental stewardship.
