The International Carbon Registry (ICR) and Carbonmark have announced their technology integration, enabling the full feature set being worked on for the past year, including credit fractionalization, automated purchase and retirements via API, and core marketplace functionality. This collaboration aims to enhance accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in carbon markets by enabling real-time transactions and retirements of carbon credits. Projects are already listed and ready for retirement.

Enhancing Carbon Markets with Blockchain Technology

By leveraging Carbonmark's innovative blockchain technology and ICR's infrastructure, this integration facilitates direct, immediate transactions essential for scaling carbon markets to meet the ambitious targets set by the Paris Agreement. Carbonmark will be listing ICR's registered projects on their platform, providing enhanced visibility and accessibility to these projects to be traded on their marketplace platform.

“This partnership aligns with our mission to enhance transparency and traceability of carbon credits. By streamlining the trading process, we aim to make carbon credits more accessible for all stakeholders in the supply chain,” said Oli Torfason, COO of ICR

Streamlined Access and Robust Trading Environment

Carbonmark, known for its automated carbon retirement API and marketplace platform, offers instantaneous, transparent transactions, and through the integration with ICR, will allow buyers on its platform to seamlessly access projects on CarbonRegistry.com. This integration is expected to enhance market dynamics and foster a more robust trading environment.

"We’re excited to integrate with an innovative carbon registry like ICR that is spearheading the use of novel technology for the market's benefit. This partnership will greatly enhance the diversity of carbon projects available to our clients” - Andrew Bonneau, Director, Carbonmark DMCC.
