Hashlock, a leader in Web3 security and smart contract auditing, is proud to announce the successful completion of a security audit for Carbonmark Direct, a carbon credits issuance platform.

Carbonmark partnered with Hashlock to conduct a thorough security review of its smart contract components, including CreditToken.sol, CreditTokenFactory.sol, Deploy.sol, Errors.sol, and Validate.sol. This audit focused on Carbonmark Direct, a groundbreaking platform designed to simplify and accelerate carbon credit issuance for project developers worldwide. By leveraging blockchain technology, Carbonmark Direct enables developers to issue carbon credits directly on-chain, ensuring greater efficiency, cost savings, and transparency. Hashlock conducted a proactive, manual review of the code to assure the Carbonmark team and its community that the deployed contracts are secure.

Carbonmark Direct revolutionizes traditional carbon credit issuance by enabling developers to issue credits directly on the blockchain. These credits are permanently recorded on an immutable public ledger, ensuring unparalleled auditability and credibility. By leveraging blockchain infrastructure, Carbonmark provides instant access to issuing, trading, and retiring carbon credits while ensuring traceability, transparent pricing, efficient settlements, and enhanced market confidence.

As part of the audit, Hashlock conducted a comprehensive review of Carbonmark’s Solidity-based smart contracts. The scope of work included a detailed line-by-line manual analysis supplemented by software-assisted testing to assess security and efficiency.

Following the audit, Hashlock found the smart contracts to be secure. The contracts adhere to simple, well-structured logic, utilizing interfaces and OpenZeppelin libraries for enhanced security and reliability. While some significant vulnerabilities were initially identified, all issues have since been addressed.

All findings from the automated and manual analysis were meticulously reviewed, and applicable vulnerabilities were documented in the Audit Findings section of the official Audit Report. A general security overview is provided in the Standardized Checks section, while the project’s contract functionality is outlined in the Intended Smart Contract Functions section. With all identified vulnerabilities now resolved and acknowledged, the Carbonmark Direct platform is secure and ready for deployment.
